Q: What happens when I contact Forbes Mobility
A: We want you to be assured that Forbes guarantee no hassle and no pressure selling. One of our dedicated team of Mobility advisor will discuss with you what scooter will best suit your needs. We will ask questions about your level of disability impairment, your height and your weight. We will also need to ascertain the distances that you will wish to cover, and the type of journeys that you plan to make. We will need to decipher whether your scooter will be required to be dismantled, or to travel on the roads. Your safety is our top priority, which is why our advisors are trained to ask the right questions to find the suitable product for you. If we do not believe that we have the right product for you we will tell you. Once we have agreed on a suitable product we will arrange a date, convenient to you, for one of our trained assessors to visit your home. Our friendly assessor will guide you through all the functions of the scooter and will give you a full test drive. He will ensure the mobility scooter is set up for your personal comfort by adjusting the seat height and tilt on the steering wheel. We will also advise on charging procedures for the battery. Most importantly, he will make sure that you feel confident with the scooter. We guarantee no hassle – no pressure selling.
Q: Should I have a Friend or family member present for the home assessment?
A: We welcome having a friend or family member present when we carry out the home assessment. This will give you added confidence and peace of mind that you have made the right decision.
Q: Do Forbes Mobility belong to any recognised trade associations.
A: Yes, we are a member of the British Healthcare trade Association. (BHTA).
Q: Why do Forbes only supply Shoprider scooter.

Q: What happens if I have a fault with the scooter.

Q: What if I get a puncture.
A: We will repair the puncture at no cost to you.
Q: Can I take my scooter with me on holiday.
A: Yes – Provided it is within the U.K mainland. However, certain service exemptions would apply. Please ring us for details before your journey.
Q: Do I qualify for VAT relief?.
A: By the very nature of the mobility scooter, it is aimed for someone with an impairment or disability. Therefore, our mobility website prices are indicated as excluding VAT. For you to qualify to be exempt from VAT you must have a chronic or disabling condition that effects your every day life: i.e. arthritis, diabetes, angina etc. You do not have to be registered disabled to claim relief from VAT. If in doubt you can contact one of our rental advisors. Alternatively, you may want to contact your local Customs and Excise office directly. To claim the VAT relief you must complete a self declaration form . This will need to state the illness or medical condition you are suffering from and tick confirm you wish to claim exemption and the information is correct. We are required to retain a copy of your declaration, and it may be passed to Customs and Excise as evidence of your disability.
